Mudgee is a beautiful town situated on the Cudgegong River with a population of 10,000. The principal agricultural products grown in the area of Mudgee are premium wine, beef, fine and superfine merino wool. Mudgee is one of the few towns west of the mountains that continues to grow and thrive, and has become a popular tree-change destination. Rylstone/Kandos are twin towns of history and industry. The lovely stone buildings and excellent eateries draw tourists who can enjoy the stunning scenery, local food and wine of the district. Kandos produces the renowned Blue Circle Southern Cement, as well as coal. The towns are only 45 minutes to Mudgee, 3 hours from Sydney and close to waterways and the Wollemi National Park.
